I lived in an apartment in Clearwater, Florida with my then girlfriend in 1995. She was by far the sweetest most proper girl that I have ever dated. What happened to her during ouija board sessions made me a believer.
I purchased a board to have in the apartment as a novelty or for entertainment purposes. One night my girlfriend suggested that we give it a try. We had not participated in "contacting the spirit world" before and thought that it would be fun.
Sitting in the middle of my family room floor, I had a smile on my face as the pointer began to swirl around the board. I glanced up at my girlfriend to look her in the eye because I was sure that she was moving the pointer. This spirit that we contacted said his name was "Jay." I found this interesting because I was under the impression that she was creating a story.
To my utter shock, this "spirit" began using very foul language, threatened my well being, and described his sexual wishes in great detail as they related to my girlfriend. The shocking part for me was not thinking that an actual spirit was contacting me via a store bought ouija board, but that my well mannered girlfriend (whom I never even heard say as much as the word damn, hell, ass, etc) could jump out of her shell through this board! I was convinced that she did this as a way of expressing herself and played along.
This happened over the next few nights. The language, threats, and vulgar sex talk was getting increasingly disturbing. I finally asked her to relax a bit when she swore on her life that she wasn't doing anything. She asked me if I could feel the cool spot directly over the board. I reluctantly reached out and to my surprise could feel a temperature drop. That was the last time I used the board.
Unfortunately, it didn't end for her then. I would come home from work to find her sitting in the middle of the floor or on the bed having long conversations with "Jay." It was freaking me out. I could look through the window of my apartment and just see her talking to the board and watching the pointer whip around the board. I thought one of us was going crazy.
I decided to tell her that I had to get rid of the board because I had a problem with her addiction to her new found friend. She reluctantly agreed and I hid the board in a closet.
Now nothing CRAZY SUPERNATURAL happened as far as lights going out, or people getting killed or anything, but that is some of the most freaky stuff that I have ever been a part of. Since then we have been broken up (not because of the board) and she always swore that her contacts were real. I have to say that I do believe her.
