why should kerry apologize for opposing the war in vietnam?
why should anyone who opposed that war apologize?
to whom?
to the far right whackjobs in the swift boat crew?
on what basis does anyone who opposed the war owe them anything?
his activities were not like those of jane fonda, whose role in the antiwar movement has for far too long been grist for the mill of fatuousness particular to the culture of rightwing resentment---and i suspect he has not had the long engagement with various conversion experiences that fonda has. the anaolgy is faulty on all counts.
