My biggest screw-up was saving-related. I had built up a pretty good Ranger in Neverwinter Nights, and obsessively done everything and explored everywhere and everything through about 3 and a half levels (i dunno, 30, 35 hours total?). I'd been quicksaving my games, rarely saving it under a named file.
My roommate asked me what I was playing, so I showed him. The next day, I came home to find that quickloading brought me a level 1 sorcerer. Hmmm.
Why yes, said my roomie, I did start up a game without asking you if I could use your computer.
I should have known - rule #1 - save fully, and save often. Sigh.
P.S. I just waited for him to get his sorcerer to where I had gotten, and created a seperate save for my version of his character. I still wonder what it would have been like to win with a ranger...
