By default, it saves them to My Documents.
Keep in mind that most software captures the frame at the mpeg2 resolution of 720x480, which in most cases is not the proper aspect ratio for the picture. You'll have to resize the pic to the DVD's specified aspect ratio to make it look right. For example, if you have a 4:3 DVD, resize the pic to 640x480.
