At one point I worked for a company with a free Coke machine (literally Coke, because the company name was pronounced "Coke" even though spelled differently), and I probably _did_ get close to ten cans a day of diet soda. I started feeling weird in an indefinable way -- partly mental, partly just feeling "off" -- and I cut back. But I couldn't tell you if it was the aspartame or not. Drinking that much of _anything_ in a day would probably have some odd effect on the body.
