Here's some things I do when I can't sleep (some of which have been mentioned above):
*Go for a walk, or a bike ride
*surf the net, or play games, chat with complete strangers etc
*Pull out old photo albums and reminisce...
*Go out on my balcony and look at the sky through a scope
*Watch a flick, happens more often than reading a book
There is always something to do, no matter how trivial.
