If I felt that touch is in kindness, I'd check to see if my wallet is still there, then offer a polite greeting.
If it was done in a rude way, I'd check to see if my wallet is still there, then I'd be on the defencive.
I have several fond memories about the kindness of strangers!
None of them started out with being physically touched.
