I watch music award shows whenever I can. For the same reason that I read the news and stay informed about the rest of the things that are going on around me.
Even if you aren't a huge fan of pop music, I think it's important to be informed about it, and MTV, VH1, MMVAs, these award shows are big parts of the pop music world. Be as indie as you want, but being media savvy, and music savvy are definitely a good thing.
I didn't see the whole thing to be honest, I missed quite a bit of it, so I don't know how well I can discuss it.
I just wanted to get in here and put up some sort of rebuttle to the "mtv stinks" tidal wave. Admittedly, most of the music I enjoy doesn't quite make it to MTV or Muchmusic, but all this hate is dangerous. Come on now, where would we be without ludacris, christina, et all? I haven't had much luck chatting up any girls at clubs to the sound track of ambient, down tempo trip hop
but when "diirrrty" comes on... well we have a winner.
