I think this is a great opportunity for resistance to mind control to develop. This is no different than the gullible country yokel transforming into a jaded city slicker; people have always been trying to take advantage of other people, and they always will be.
One of the problems with Communism and a strength of Capitalism is this competition. Consumers will learn to resist the efforts to sway their opinions, and I think we will all be better off from this progress.
