I think you're taking it in the wrong context. Advertising shows the best of whoever is using the product shown. Ever see a beerbellied old man downing a Budweiser in an ad? Of course not. Beautiful people drink it. Ads show their products in a world of perfect bodies, smiling faces and stylish clothes. Even those 'moms' dusting their livingrooms are perfect and happy. Corporate advertisers hold the gullible to an impossible standard they will try to emulate in frustration. It's not the product being sold in and of itself-it's what it can do for you to help you achieve that ultimate goal of perfection, ie: buy our shit and be loved by all and look good too.
