I definitely agree about the insoles. I would also add that I wear Vasque boots (a sub-brand of Red Wing) and find them extremely comfortable even for long periods. For someone who weighs around 250 lbs, finding comfortable shoes can be quite a challenge. No shoe has treated me as well as the Red Wings.
