I hate to say it, 0energy0, but both of those cards seriously suck. You're not going to get anywhere near maximum quality or a decent framerate on anything but medium with those cards. The 256 MB memory on those shit video cards is meaningless. My suggestions are as follows: if you're willing to spend some cash on this investment, I highly recommend either
XFX nVIDIA GeForce 6800 GT Video Card, 256MB GDDR3, 256-Bit, TV-Out/DVI, 8X AGP, Model "PVT40AUA" -RETAIL - $439.00, this card will beat some serious ass on Doom3 and HL2. My friends Lasereth and BlueMax will tell you the same, most likely. Also, if you'd like to be tempted by a damn good card from ATI -
SAPPHIRE ATI RADEON X800 PRO Video Card, 256MB GDDR3, 256-bit, DVI/TV-out, 8X AGP - OEM - $418.00. I realize these are both serious investments, but both of these cards mark the biggest jump in graphics cards in about 3-5 years. If you're looking for some still damn good performance on those games, I might suggest
SAPPHIRE ATI RADEON 9800 PRO Video Card, 128MB DDR, 256-bit, DVI/TV-Out, 8X AGP -BULK -OEM - $193.00, or this card:
AOpen nVIDIA GeForce FX5900XT Video Card, 128MB DDR, 256-bit, DVI/TV-Out, 8X AGP, Model "FX5900XT-DV128" -RETAIL - $174.00. Those are my suggestions for getting the most out of the current generation, and some damn good performance in the next, perhaps 2 or 3 generations.
