I'd say use both. The more variety the better. But whey is much superior for energy use--that is, if you want to USE the protein (such as for a shake that you plan on using for a 90-minute workout) then use the whey, but if you want to eat it for weight, heart, or other dietary health concerns, then soy is a good choice.
