Even with full force, you'd likely have to hit the human skull several times to get it to really split apart.
The thing that separated the sixth victim, the girl whose family owned the place, was that her face (and entire head, presumably) was
destroyed. They had to reassemble her jaw and upper palate back together from pieces just to be able to create a dental impression. That's what it means when they say "reconstruction".
How many hits from a metal bat would it take to fracture the jaw and destroy a mouth? Maybe 2, but likely many more...
