Sounds like it could be a clogged catalytic converter. When they go bad, it runs fine until you jump on the gas, then it feels gutless and very slow to rev up. Also, do you have a check engine light? Sometimes when certain sensors go bad, that light will turn on and it'll run with reduced power.
