The only stereotype I ever had in my head about Canadians was that they were just generally “nicer”than Americans.

Several years ago, I picked up a Canadian hitchhiker. He was sixteen years old, and the director of a Shakespearean play at his high school in Sudbury, Ontario.

He was they sweetest, and most polite, well-mannered, outspokenly kind kid I'd ever met. I let him sleep on my couch for one night. He was also very mature for his age.

My husband is so nice, when I first met him, I thought he was a Canadian.
