I've never owned a FWD vehicle. Yeah RWD can be trickier in snow, but I think it's more predictable and easier to control once you're moving. You can still steer while accelerating with the wheels spinning, unlike a front-driver.
As for the Hemi thing, it's a name just like Triton, Powerstroke, Duramax, Vortec, Duratec, Windsor, Magnum, etc. Yes it's just a stupid marketing gimmick, but the bottom line is that it sells cars and that's the point.
I guess Chrysler could have named it like the Japanese, but "That thing gotta SRVQB56PV=NRT?" doesn't have quite the same advertising appeal.
