Well... does it let you get into Windows at all? When I installed XP for the first time, it let me use it for 30 days before I activated it. From there, I could install the correct driver for my ethernet card and I was golden. I downloaded it on another computer and set it up.
If it can't do that... you can try booting from the XP CD. Go into BIOS and set your CD drive as the primary boot device, and have the XP CD in when you start. Then you can choose to start a new installation of XP, and when it asks you if you want to format the C drive, say "Yes" and choose the "NTFS" setting (not FAT).
Failing that... I can't see anything else. I dunno.
