So I rented 2003 after hearing tons about this game. I love it already!

I just went out and bought 2004 and have a few questions.

Is there a way to visit the pro shop without starting a game, quitting, then going to the shop when it asks you before you return to the main menu? (this is how I've been getting there

)

Also, what's the best way to start this game out? My plans are to have a character to use with my friends while playing against eachother, as well as have a character (can be the same guy) to use while playing in the tours. Should I just start with a blank character and work up? I tried this but his stats are horrid and I'm having trouble. Maybe I should beat a round with Tiger, save the profile as myself, and make the guy look like me and use the won $$$ to buy stats...?
