I never played the PC version but in the PS2 version your rate of acceleration is somewhat dependant on how hard you press the accelerate button. You don't get a full range of acceleration. It's more like low, med, high.
I'm looking forward to the cops on motorcycles. I always wanted to do vigilante missions in a bike.
