Help/Advice w/new CR-V Purchase
Okey doeky, here's where we're at:
2004 CRV EX with 1440 in dealer installed accessories.
"Your new quote is $23,261, plus tax, title and license" Is where I'm at from initial dealer offers of 23,900. Honda's website puts the CRV with our selected accessories at 24,831.
So, were getting there. What I need help with is figuing the appropirate profit margin based on invoice prices. Any help from experianced car buyers, dealers, would be nice.
I take the invoice of $20,830 (I've found same number on a couple of site, so I hope it's good.)
Invoice $20,830 * .05 = (profit) $1041.50 + $20,830 = (cost before accessories) $21,871. Now, $21,871 isn't bad, so we tack on $1440 in toys = $23,311.
If I think $23,311 is a good price for me to offer, and I'm already $23,261, aren't I getting a good price?? I don't know for sure. Little help?
Actually, holdback is 3% of MSRP on Hondas. Does that mean I'm giving the dealer 8% profit? That's too damn much.
