You'll score big points for that. You show you are interested in her, you will learn to dance, and in the learning process you'll probably get a lot of sex (dancing can be so hot when it's just the two of you).
My ex taught me salsa, merengue (sp) and a little tango. Although I am not good I am better than 95% of the other guys, and that gets me attention.
A few tips I have for you is to learn the proper way of holding a woman: Right hand on her waist with a firm but not hard grip, left hand about shoulder height (varies a little depending on dance and partner) and keep your left arm relaxed but rigid. Don't move your left hand up and down like you are shuffeling dirt.
It's important that YOU lead and that you give her hints as to what to do. Do you want her to do that classic backwards bend? Just push her gently over with your left hand. Want her to do a little swirl? Gently spin her with your right hand and change grip with your left....
Another thing is that it does not matter if you dance salsa to techno music or swing to salsa. It's much better to do something you are confident about and know how to do. Then you'll relax and look cool and wow the girls.
