The CARFAX Request Thread is over. Read post 52 for details.
Ok, here it is. We have numerous requests for CARFAX reports floatng around Tilted Motors. This is a consolidated thread for those requests. All I ask is that you keep in mind that no report is necessarily 100% accurate, and that not every accident or problem will always be logged properly.
With that in mind, I give you the CARFAX request thread. When you get a report, you have 30 days to run as many VIN's as you want through the system. If you're a generous type of person, you may want to check this thread during that time and see if anyone has a VIN to be checked.
Here's how it's going to work:
Disclaimer: TFP is not responsible for anything in the CARFAX report, we are not affiliated with CARFAX, and we can't control or in any way influence what shows up in the report. We are not responsible for any probelms that arise based on a CARFAX report that you recieve. We cannot ensure that you get a carfax report if it is requested.
1: If you have a VIN to be checked, post the VIN, and the year/make/model/trim line of the car, so that the report can be retrieved, and double-checked to make sure it is, in fact, the right car. Mark the top of your post (in the post itself, not the subject line) with "OPEN REQUEST"
Please do not post unless you have a request. This will keep the thread clear and running smoothly. See step 4 for more info.
2: If anyone has an active CARFAX account, PM me, and I'll put your name and the time in which your services will be available in this thread. After your time expires, your name will be moved to the bottom of the post to indicate that you can no longer provide reports, but you are still being acknowledged as a thank-you.
While you have an account available, you may want to subscribe to this thread with email notification in order to recieve notice that a request has been made.
3: If there are requests, and you have the time to help out a fellow TFP member, run the report, and PM the text of the report or the URL (if available) to the person who requested it.
4: If your request is seen and a report is given to you, edit your request post, and change "OPEN REQUEST" to "REPORT RECIEVED" Remove the VIN number from the post and leave a quick note thanking the person who fulfilled your request, and maybe a quick synopsis if the report saved you from potential vehicular doom.
