I know I may sound hopelessly ignorant now, but can anyone give me a walkthrough of how to do this using ATItool?
I downloaded and installed it, and the first thing it told me was to install a patched version of driver files, to make my 9500 run as a 9700. They directed me to
http://softmod.ocfaq.com/index.php for these files. Should I try this? Then, if I do use it, how do I test that the card is functioning correctly? Do I need 3Dmark or does ATItool have the capacity to test it?
Alright, now when I'm using ATItool, there are two sliders, one for Core and one for Memory. I'm assuming those are the clock speeds. I figured the memory would be more effective to overclock, so I tested the max memory speed, and it brought it to about 265... is it saying I should UNDERclock my card? Default is 270 for that value.
I have several case fans placed so as to cool the video card directly (air passing directly over the card fan to push the hot air out the back), so cooling shouldn't be too much of an issue, but could that be a problem I'm getting?
I'm just a little confused, as you can see.
