Waverly Hills TB Hospital
The Body Chute! A tunnel which many people have heard about that exists on Waverly Hill. Actually, "body chute" is an incorrect term because usually when we think of a "chute", we visualize a type of sliding board. Therefore, many people think that bodies were thrown on some type of sliding board inside of a murky tunnel where they slid to the bottom of the hill. Well, such was not the case. The steam tunnel, as it was actually called had steps on one side and a slab on the right side that used to have rails mounted...sort of like in a coal mine. Patients who died were placed on gurney tables and rolled down to the bottom exit end of the tunnel where hearses would be waiting to pick them up.
Taken on Halloween night.
