Converting Xvid videos to mpeg format
Ok, so I have a bunch of episodes of a tv show that I want to burn to a few dvd's. As far as I know, you can't burn anything but mpeg files if you want it to play on a standard dvd player, so I need to take all my .avi files (most in the xvid format) and convert them to mpeg. Easier said then done. I tried using TMPGEnc plus to convert them, but the output file is usually huge, and I haven't been able to get it to add the sound along with the video.
My question is, is there anyone here who knows how to convert them to the mpeg format, with sound, and a small filesize (preferrably around the same size as the file I'm trying to convert) ? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
/note: I never actually finished encoding one of the files, I just let it do about 10 minutes or so then stopped it to test it out. This may or may not be the problem with the sound, but I'm not sure how all that works.
