I agree with Oshnsoul that the motive behind this is probably purely fashion. I doubt they'd be making a statement about buddism. I don't think I'd personally be offended about a bikini with a cross or image of Jesus on it. I'm not terribly defensive about Christianity though so maybe someone else who's Christian in belief can answer that better.
I do see it as odd that they put the budda in the center of the bikini bottom. I just wouldn't want to wear it there. Kinda wierd. I like the material and pattern. Just kinda wierd used as it is.
