MTV is just giving the viewers what they want. Spending $20,000 to "pimp out" some shitty 15-year old car may seem stupid to you (as it does to me) but the MTV target demographic is quite image-conscious, as is exhibited (haha, get it? Xzibit. Exhibited.) in the car modifications. I doubt many viewers would tune into an MTV-sponsored soup kitchen. Welcome to capitalism.
