I'd be willing to bet that MTV doesn't pay very much, if anything for the things they put in those cars. It's pretty easy for them to call up a company and say, "send us your best speaker system and we'll get Xzibit to say how fucking badass they are in front of a million fans."
It seems everyone outside of MTV's target audience hates them, possiblely because they haven't changed their name to Teen-tv yet, since the only Music they have is played in 10 second clips while Trent is raiding tatiana's room.(I give them props for playing a ton of nirvana today on MTV2, and top grunge albums..)
