how many scars do i have?
way too many too many to count...

some of the more interesting ones though(at least i think so):

-i have three, very distinct, side-by-side vertical lines through my right eyebrow, where i had my old eyebrow piercing ripped out on three seperate occasions. this one(/these three - whatever) seems cool to me just because it's so subtle and most people never notice it, yet the scars retained the original shape of the wound in such a way that once i do point it out to someone, it suddenly becomes very noticeable and it's really clear what happened

-on my left hand i've got a line running from where the webbing between my thumb and forefinger starts, up the side of my hand/index finger, then up towards the first knuckle. it was a fairly deep cut at the time, almost to the bone at the deepest end near the knuckle(i'm actually lucky i didn't fuck up any nerves or anything), and i ended up needing five stitches towards the deep end of the cut. it was a "kitchen accident", i was cutting corn (for those of you who only get the canned stuff, i mean i was cutting corn off the cob, to cook and then freeze) and holding the cob in my left hand and knife in my right.(i'm left handed and should never have had a knife in my right, but my hands were getting tired/sore and i was trying somthing new - a mistake in this case). well, working at a new/odd angle i managed to slip with the knife - both hands were pretty slippery too, both with water and juice from the corn - and cut all the way across/through that webbing and the first section of my index finger. anyway, after a whole lot of bullshit(my mom was freaking out, and so was my dad, in his own way; i was the only calm one - i had already rinsed the wound, wrapped up my hand, and cleaned the blood out of the sink before i went to them) and waiting around while they debated what to do, my folks finally drove me to urgent care(it's like the next step down from the emergency room, for stuff that isn't major but still needs medical attention). then i got stitches for the first time ever, and (apparently)shocked the docter, who was amazed that i not only wasn't squeamish, but was trying to get a better view of what she was doing. aside from it being my first time going to the hospital for an "emergency," and my first time getting stitches, i also think this is one of my cooler scars because of the way it seems to change - when my had is flat/extended, it's curvy, but if i make a circle with my thumb and first finger it's a super-straight line, because that's the way the knife went in. plus, there's still five little dots on each side of the line where the stitches were.

-i've got a place on my right cheek, about an inch below my eye, where it looks like a piece of the flesh was "chipped" out. i actually don't really remember getting this one. from what my mom tells me, at some point when i had only recently learned to walk, i was playing around near our fireplace, and managed to fall and hit my face on the brick hearth. the only injury i got was a slight scrape on my cheek, which hardly even bled at the time. but apparently as my face grew, that little bit of missing flesh made a difference. even though the scar is small, maybe slightly over a 1 cm wide, it's relatively deep, and although it doesn't stand out terribly it is still noticeable. i've just alway thought it was interesting how such a tiny scrape at such a young age grew into a much larger scar as i grew up.

-i've also got a sort of "double scar", it's a line across the bridge of my nose. the first time i got cut there was back in elementary school, i think around sixth or seventh grade. we were in gym class, playing soccer, and me and one of the guys in the class went for the ball at the same time and managed to run right into each other and bang heads. this was back when i still wore glasses, and we collided with enough force that my glasses frames cut into the flesh there at the bridge of my nose. the next time i got cut in the same place was a few years back, i think maybe my junior year of highschool. i was playing with my dog, both of us at the same eye level, he was facing away from me and i was just scratching his ears. without realizing it i accidentally hit a sore spot and he turned around to snarl at me as a warning... only because he turned so fast and we were so close, he managed to somehow hit that same spot on the bridge of my nose with one of his teeth and open it up again.

also, right at the moment i have three fairly large burns on my right arm (on the job accidents) that i'm sure will scar up pretty good as they heal
