Yes...disipline.
My brother is currently studying in South Carolina for the Navy. Both of my grandfathers were involved in wars (I forget what divisions they went under). One of my friend's brother is a Marine overseas right now. Two of my friends who graduated last year have entered the Army.
With all of that said, all of them have grown to be more respectful than what they were before they signed their life away for afew years. However, sadly enough, I've noticed that my brother has lost alot of his personality since he went to basic training in October...nobody else that I mentioned (excluding my grandfathers, because I wasn't around before they signed up for whatever) has lost much/any personality. I guess it's to be expected though, plus I figure I just notice his changes alot more than others because I've lived with him for 18 years.
