Not really. It depends on what you call "big." You can get Maxtor 160 GB hard drives for about a buck per gigabyte. Same thing with 80 GB hard drives. Hell, Maxtor 250 GBs are under 250 bucks. So that makes the buck-per-gigabyte lower than a smaller hard drive.
Now SATA is another story.
