Kissing is a very large taboo in the porn industry.
In a job where you have everything on display and are practicing what most think of as an incredibly intimate act, the stars and the industry try where they can to protect their dignity and reserve something for the initmacy they share with their loved ones off camera.
In porn, the reserve has always been kissing. It rather makes sense in fact. One of the most eroticly charged actions in making love is kissing. It's consistently the number one turn-on reported by people when the Kisnley report updates come out.
You have to respect them holding some shred of privacy in the most erotic action we as a species participate in.
On another note, the statment that we are looking for intamcy in our porn (as opposed to previous generations) speaks to contemporary reports coming to the public from social studies that the current generation (15-25yrs) is more concerned with a succesful marriage and the idea of family than the two previous generations. Rather interesting.
