It's a magical birdhouse though. I put it in my yard on the fence line of the neighbors I couldn't stand. They moved shortly thereafter. Don't knock the power of the birdhouse.

In other news, I just passed the ESPN MNF semi on its trek from Pittsburgh to San Fran.

So it's a Mk22 Offensive Birdhouse? Mmm... I guess I can get behind that. I'm all for low-intensity conflict.

I went to the new gym this morning. Apparently, I've been doing everything wrong. I can't really walk correctly now, after the the session with the trainer. I think she killed my quads with power squats and my triceps keep buzzing. I'm game, though. 3x a week, I'm going to kick my own ass in weight training.

Secondly, my ring will be arriving in Hotlanta... two days after we leave to see my family. So I'll have to wait until the Tuesday after Thanksgiving. :( But, my ring is almost here, squuuuuuuuuuuueeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!

And finally, I'm really excited because my copy of Deborah Madison's Vegetarian Cooking for Everyone just got here. And cause I got to talk to one of my little munchkins (the one that used to bite the hell out of me) on the phone today and he demanded that I come see him. In 4-year-old autism-spectrum-speak. And he asked if I promised when I said I'd come see him! So much progress, verbally, despite the massive escalation in his problem behaviors in the past few weeks, since I haven't been able to see him.

Remember the days when it took longer than 15 seconds to setup a new computer to use an existing printer?

    Yeah, those days really sucked.

On my travels today I stopped by a state park (in IA, not IL, IL saves everyone from lunatic gun owners like myself, that's why we have no shootings) and played Plan9 for half an hour. For those about to ask, the little holes are .22lr, the medium holes .44 mag, the big holes are 12ga.

Weak. Mediocre. Bush league. You need a gun that properly portrays you as a manly man.

Went to the county health dept. today and got the flu shot and a varicella titer.
Flu shot, apparently, has kicked my ass and I feel like shit.
While a nurse was drawing blood for the titer, she told me, 'don't be surprised if the results come back low and you have to get the shots.'
    Fabulous.
I don't mind the injections, but there are two of them and they cost $120 each. Yikes, almighty.
I still need to go back and get a physical and the TB skin test again.
Then there is my BLS recertification, uniforms, books, stethoscope, blood pressure cuff....and other stuff i am forgetting.
Drug testing, fingerprinting, background check, immunization tracking I have already paid for.
Man, if you were to cut me open right now I would bleed dimes and quarters.
Letting us know that there would be a six week period in which we would need to spend $500-1000 (some folks haven't even started on their vaccines) on preparations for class would have been some helpful information to share in the nursing information sessions. I think so.

Thats looks ideal for home defense, especially with armoured piercing rounds and in the apartment setting. Never can tell when an intruder is going to be wearing body armour.

Ugh, I hear you. I had to shell out for the the tests just to get into graduate school (2, $100/piece) and then I have to shell out even more for my endorsements/authorization level exams (again, $100/piece, 4 in total) and some test on student civil rights that I think is just a cash grab on Pearson's part (also $100). So, $700 just on testing. At least fingerprinting was cheap.
