The wife and I are off to the USA for a few weeks and are stopping off in Boston around the end on June, any idea's what to do during the day and in the evenings? we are outgoing people so don't be shy!

Boston is a fun city. If you are staying downtown it is very walkable.

If you like baseball at all, the tours of Fenway Park are interesting even if you don't go to a game. Take the Duck tour (original Ducks, not the knock-offs), you'll learn a lot about the city and have a good time.

We did a cruise of the harbor one evening, it was a blast.

Get some native Bostonians to pronounce as many words as possible that contain the letter R.

I know little about Boston except that many people report that parking DT sucks, and the BPD love to write parking tickets.

I lived in Boston a few years ago, and it's a great place to visit as well as to live.

If you're there more than a couple of days get Charlie Card passes for Boston's public transit system. I'd second the (original) Duck Tours and the Freedom Trail. Also the Boston Commons and Public Garden. The Museum of Fine Arts is good, and the U. S. S. Constitution ship tour, and Boston has great theater (or is it theatre)? Any lodging is going to be expensive that time of year, so the Charlie Cards might make it possible to stay cheaper out in the 'burbs and still spend plenty of time in the city.

I liked the Back Bay better than downtown and some of my friends like the Revere Hotel on Stuart. There are also lots of interesting suburban sites like Lexington, Concord, Salem, and more. If your stay carries over into the first week in July there will be a plenitude of Independence Day activities.

    Enjoy your stay!

Pahk the cah in the cahpahk.

There's an appraiser on Antiques Roadshow that has a great Bahston accent.
