What do you feed the dog?

DAKA DOING VERY NICELY, THANK YOU

I have been feeding our, adopted 5 weeks ago, 6 year old Silkie Terrier (the little rat bastard who has bitten me 4 times and Priscilla 3 times) Blue Wilderness mixed with a small bit warmed frozen vegi's and some bits of cooked chicken.
I can only say that he has the worst gas I have ever smelled...Oh... My..... God....
Think it's the vegi chicken additions?

We fed our dogs dogfood. Whatever was reasonably priced and healthy for them without buying into all the marketing BS they've got nowadays. The dog licks its own ass, it'll eat whatever you put in front of it when it gets hungry enough.

  3. We feed our boxer Blue Wilderness and he STINKS, so maybe it's the dog food, not the veggies or chicken.

We used to feed our dog dry dog food with a little wet food mixed in-- I think the brand was "Wellness." We would also give her some table scraps and such for treats. She developed a sensitive stomach, though, with unfortunate poop results. We now give her Science Diet Sensitive Stomach dry food, with a little plain white rice, plain boiled chicken, and cottage cheese; and we no longer give her table scraps of any kind. She is a healthy and happy little dog.

I think the dog food we get is Purina One.

And they get beef soft jerky sticks for treats...just a portion. (American made...or at least not from China, which has had issues lately)
And they share in small bites of my meals most times.

They self-feed themselves, I just keep their bowl full...the food they have they like, but they keep it balanced and don't overeat.
Ever since I switched to it...they have lost weight to a healthier level and their poos have become more consistent, both in substance and timing...no digestive issues at all.
    It's pricier, but worth it.

The Beneful they were on before, they were getting overweight and their poos were colored, like the food dye was affecting it.

Very happy and healthy pups...they just got a perfect bill of health at the vet. :)

Blue Buffalo Wilderness Large Breed. He almost never passes gas that we can smell. But some dogs react that way to high protein foods.

Did you transition over several weeks, mixing with the old food type? If not, that could possibly be the issue, or part of it. A quick Google search on how to best transition dog foods might help.

Yeah, for the record, our little dog is relatively fart-free. Or so we believe-- it also could be that between me, Mrs. Levite, and Little Levite, we collectively overwhelm anything the dog might let out....

Molly gets Dick van Patten's limited ingredient duck and potato. It seems she's a sensitive girl ... not really; but something in her old food was making her scratch at 2am.

The Mrs blames Molly for any foul odors that drift my way. Sleeping between the 2, I'm pretty sure Molly is being framed.

Fair warning to anyone researching this issue: dogfart.com is a porn site.

Later edit: I didn't actually mean to create a live link. I guess TFP makes anything dot com into a link.

We fed our dog Purina one. That was years ago. I have no idea what we'd feed dog now if we were to get one. Our rabbit likes hay.

My husband constantly blames the cat for his own farts. I know the difference.

There is absolutely NOTHING like a Bengal snart. You have the expelled lung volume, plus the horrific odor of a one-year-old's first shit after eating meat for the first time.

Oh... Wait... This wasn't a pet-gas problem thread, ha ha...
From owning pure-bred cats, I can easily support higher quality pet food. The amount of fillers and garbage that ends up in pet food is awful.
