What time do you wake up in the morning? Does your body follow a schedule regardless of what time you want to wake up? How are you usually woken in the morning?

During the week, my alarm is set for 6:20 am for school. On the weekend, I turn the alarm off, because my body will wake me up by 7:30 no matter how late I've gone to sleep. I might be tired and want a nap in a couple hours, but I can't go back to sleep at 7:30 no matter how hard I try.

Lately, it turns out that my cats (or at least my little one) know my alarm schedule. They get fed before bed (after laser dot playtime), and usually curl up with me while I fall asleep. The last couple days, when I haven't had an alarm set, Eva has been waking me up meowing and crawling all over me at precisely 6:20 am. If her meowing in my face doesn't work, she gets up on my dresser and starts knocking my earrings or other jewelry off of it, forcing me to get up and pay attention to her. Their food bowl is never empty or even close to it, she just wants me to be awake. Usually, if I can fend her off long enough to fall asleep again, my body wakes me up at 7:30 anyway.

I don't know how people can possibly change their sleep schedules to different shifts. I have a hard enough time moving mine around by an hour!

  2. I seldom sleep later than 7. That's the time I set the alarm for but usually am up before that. This morning 6:20, didn't fall sleep until about midnight. I didn't used to be this way. But have been for the past 3 years or so.

My routine time for waking up is 6 a.m. during work days, even when traveling.

My body wakes up automatically on work days, but shuts off on non-work days. On those days and on vacations I tend to sleep in until 10/11 a.m.

Because of all the traveling throughout the years, I've also become almost immune to jet lag. Going from Europe to Australia still fucks me over, though.

  4. I'm up at 6:20-6:30 am on work days, after a couple of slams on the snooze alarm. Until recently, I'd been able to stay down until 11 or noon on off days, but not anymore. If I get to 8 am, it's a luxury. Today, I was wide-eyed by 7:05. This applies to whether I had a gig the night before or not. Damn! I love my sleep, too!

On weekdays, I'm up at 7:30 a.m., mostly permissible because I work from home. I sometimes need to adjust that back an hour if I need to be somewhere downtown for 9 a.m. (like tomorrow for an AGM). It's usually no problem. I sleep well no matter the timing. I go to bed at various times and can wake up at various times.

I usually need at least 6 hours of sleep or I feel off. I prefer 7 to 8 to feel optimal.

Without an alarm, I'll usually sleep a solid 9 or 10 hours.

I like to sleep in, and have a hard time waking up before 6am unless someone else is around.

I normally wake up at 7:40-8:30 during the week, and 9-10 on the weekend.

I miss when I was unemployed and didn't have school. Sleeping when my body wanted to was one of the best parts. But, I would stay up for 30-36 hours and then crash for 12-14 hours. You could get a lot done, but regular society functioned on a totally different time cycle.

The problem I have now is that I fall asleep at night even when I don't want to. I can fall asleep 2 minutes after sitting down like I did last night.

I wake at 0400 nearly every morning. Have for years. This only differs if I'm out very late, which here could mean I don't get home until after 0400, or I'm ill. I operate on about 5 hours of sleep. If I sleep more then 6 hours I feel tired and listless all day.

I wake up between 7:30 and 8 am every day. I need at least 8 hours of sleep a night to feel good, but I prefer 9-10. I can operate on less than 8, but I prefer not to. Less than 6 is truly unpleasant.

I usually set my alarm, but it slightly varies depending on when my first appointment is that day, or what I have going on in general. Usually I'm up somewhere between 6:45 and 7:20. If it's a day that I don't need to get up, I usually still end up waking up by 7:30-8. Lately, if anything, I've had problems with waking up way early and not being able to fall back asleep.

When I was a teenager, and in my early 20s, I could basically sleep until someone woke me up, sometimes as late as noon or 1, even if I hadn't been up all night the night before.

On the weekdays my alarm goes off at 6:30 AM. I hit the snooze but every ten minutes until 7:10 AM. Then I get out of bed and am out the door for work by 7:40 AM. I go to sleep anywhere between 12:00 and 2:00 AM. Typically closer to 2:00 than 12:00.

On the weekends I wake up at 9:00 AM without exception and no matter what time I go to sleep, which could be anytime on the weekends. If I was drinking especially heavy the night before, I may be able to get back to sleep for an hour or so, but not much longer than that.

I don't like to sleep much and almost never get more than 5 - 6 hours of uninterrupted sleep.

On regular nights I am asleep between 10 and 11pm and I am up at either 5:10 or 6:30. 5:10 on the days I am either running or cycling and 6:30, if I get to "sleep in".

On weekends, I rarely sleep later than 7:30. Sometimes I can get back to sleep, but usually once I am awake, I am awake.

I usually crawl out of bed between 8-9am. Gives me an hour or two of peace and quite till the wife wakes up.

What time i wake up will vary any given day. It was around 1330 today after a good 5+ hours of rest, there are days I get naps in the morning and evening, and then those really fun days where I get to run on 2-3 hours of sleep if that which are thankfully much rarer than they used to be.

We generally don't set an alarm at our place - we do have children, though, so it is pretty hard to sleep too late. Usually up around 7, though no huge hurry - I work from home :)

Well, if I'm not having insomnia, which throws off my body clock
Or dealing with an operations issue (on call 24/7)
    I guess I have a regular routine.

Wake up without an alarm 7:30
Two cups of coffee with sugar
    Breakfast sandwich
    Go thru morning headlines.
Walk the 3 dogs (two back & forths, first 2 then 1)
    Shower & shave
    Dress
Find my wallet, keys, cells, badget
    Grab my laptop bag

But all this is up for grabs if I couldn't sleep in the middle of the night
or I had to deal with computer bullshit in the middle of the night.
Then I'll usually WFH, work remote from home...

What time do you wake up in the morning? 6:00am

Does your body follow a schedule regardless of what time you want to wake up? Yes. I wish I could wake up later on weekends, but if I am usually awake by 7:00am

How are you usually woken in the morning? During the week, it is my alarm clock, but on weekends my body awakens me.

I'm going to have to start training myself to wake up at 7am soon. It shouldn't be so bad since it's summer, and that's my usual summer wake up time. My new job, which starts next month, will require me to be at work every morning at 8:30am. I've been waking up at 7:30 this week. Next week, 7:15.

During the week, my alarm goes off at 5, 5:15, and 5:30 if I'm going to the gym.
If not, 6:15, 6:30, 6:45, and 7:00. Max goes off (on the blinds) at 7:00.
However, I usually wake up between 2 and 4 and am awake for around an hour or two.
Sometimes, if it's closer to 4/4:30, I can't go back to sleep.
    We're in bed around 10:30 - 12:00, asleep by 11 - 1:30 ish so that's 4 - 6 hours max... usually more like 5.
It sucks. Because... on weekends, my brain and my cat are on the same schedule.
My secondary insomnia has been better lately, but the tertiary sucks.I really have always needed
a full 8 - 10 hours to feel human. Unfortunately, I've learned how to function on significantly less
for longer and longer periods of time.
