Things You Do Others Might Consider Weird

I guess I didn't think this was weird, but in talking about media storage on phones last night while out with my friends, I said that I had a bunch of anime on my phone. My friend asked why, and I said that I liked to watch anime in all kinds of places, like on the bus or in the shower.

Incredulous tone: "You watch anime in the shower?"
"Uhh, yeah? There's a little shelf in there that's just the right size for my phone."

I'm sure there are other people who watch television or movies in the shower; I don't see how anime is any different, but apparently I'm weird.

    How about you?

I consider it normal and having an appreciation for quality and proper choices in film stock, but some people just do not get why some of us prefer analog film over digital cameras. Digital is certainly very useful but I cannot ignore the wealth of choices I have with my film cameras. When I am able to, I am buying some good medium format cameras and upgrading beyond full frame 35mm.

...I suppose the boxes of vinyls that rate higher than most of my sparse furniture also fit here as well.

When I turn off the shower, I don't want to step out right away and drip all over everything. A little time will allow almost all the water to drip off my skin into the shower.

So, if I'm not in a hurry, I stay in the shower, do some toweling, and (usually silently) recite the Periodic Table of the Elements ("Hydrogen, helium, lithium, beryllium, boron, carbon ...").

When I get to Copernicum (#112), I step out.

I'm a light smoker, limit myself to five cigs, one-half at a time, a day.

I ask myself the same question that others ask, "Why not just quit?".

I jump off cliffs wearing skis, know for a fact that my motorcycle does 135mph, and have an AARP card. I'm told that's weird, wtf do I know?

I have an aversion to flying. I can do it in an emergency, but I'll gladly spend days driving to avoid a few hours in airports/airplanes.

I don't watch TV, other than an occasional sporting event or special like the Roosevelt series.

I don't carry a cellphone, unless I'm traveling. It just sits plugged in on the kitchen counter.

I can't stomach applesauce or raw oysters.

A Big Turk is chocolate covered Turkish Delight, which is flavoured with rosewater. It does taste kind of weird. It's definitely different from any run of the mill chocolate bar.

    Flavoured? :p

I'll have to try a Big Turk.

And not the kind you'd expect to see in a Naked Gun movie.

5:30am is our usual wakeup time. And I am usually pretty alert and cheery right out of bed.

    Talk.
Seriously, how I talk...the topics I talk about...sometimes seem to throw people off.

That...and quite a few don't understand how close I am to my dogs. (I treat them like people in a way, like family...they're not just "dogs")

    Whatever.

After dinner our dogs (we recently took in a stray puppy, now have five dogs) each get a plate with a little bit of human food, same for desert.
