The TFPez is missing... does any one care ?

Again, it's not missing. We've explained where it went. It will most likely come back, but there's no ETA. Again, that's because the folks that lurked there didn't contribute either to the threads or by donating. There are other things here at 5.0 that higher priorities, and we've still got all the threads in Posting Games.

 

Not missing requires no explanation. ETA$ require imagination. The higher priorities of 5.0 might be better served with a nod to their history. I care that what was has been dismissed as if unimportant. What made this part of my reality was what I took/put out/into it. A forum's reinvention had better be better.

 

OCM, let me state for the record that this is me speaking as a member of TFP and not as an admin:

The Don Quixote bit is running dry. We get that you don't like 5.0. That's too bad. This new space is much more user created than 4.0 ever was, so I guess your beef is with EVERYONE, not the staff.

Putting my staff hat back on - here's the deal - the EZ is a liability, not an asset. It runs the very real risk of copyright risks and intellectual property theft as well as invasion of privacy. Not to mention the serious issue of outright illegal activties. It wasn't well visited, especially when compared to the rest of the site, and it didn't pay for itself after it was stood on it's own. It became the private playground of a small number of guys, and that was fine. There have been 2 people even ask about it other than you. That pretty much illustrates my point - that it wasn't exactly the draw that it was before. It's going to come back, but it will be a bit since we're fixing other things that people use more often.

Now, I take great exception to you catagorizing my responses as dismissing "as if unimportant". I've spent more time and energy making sure that the EZ ran smoothly and without spam than any other staffer. I posted there a lot more frequently than you did. I've responded multiple times in both of these threads now as quickly as I can and explained what's going on. If that's not good enough for you, that's too fucking bad. It's my best, and if you don't like it, go find somewhere else to grind your fucking axe.

 

Not to butt in--though I suppose I'm doing exactly that. I don't even know 'what' the TFPEZ is but after your explanation I do not want to know.
I do want you to know the_jazz, that I appreciate greatly all that you do. The more I take the time to read through the non-entertainment threads the more I get the picture of the vast amount of heavy lifting that goes on by unpaid staff.
As I noted earlier today, I see the importance of contributing beyond just words and I intend to do just that come payday. Thank you.

 

Tough shit - I'm going to tell you anyway. We spun the old Titty Board off into the Tilted Forum Project Erogenous Zone about 2 years ago. There were a number of reasons for it, not the least of which was the PayPal doesn't allow payments for porn forums.

Otherwise, thanks. We all appreciate it. I don't want anyone to think that I really do all that much here - the vast majority of heavy lifting is done by cynthetiq and Martian. Both of those guys do more behind-the-scenes stuff than I think anyone here recognizes, and when there's a software or hardware problem, they're the ones that fix it. I'm just a glorified policy dipshit.

The EZ is nothing but porn pics. Big deal. Does anyone actually go to the internet for pictures anymore? Even back in the "Old Days" I didn't care if it existed or not. The internet is vast, porn is vast it doesn't have to exist everywhere. If you need NSFW content to go with your TFP, then go to the forums at the bottom of the listing and grab your lotion.

I wonder if getting rid of all of that will lead to more Tea Party/conservative types posting here. It did when it was removed from the front page to TFPez... It is tiring having to debate them all the time and prove them wrong.
