Riverdance--Colin Dunne, or Michael Flatley?

    The ballet thread rekindled this thought, figured it woud be better to start a thread rather than hyjack that one.

    I like Riverdance (seriously, I do), and feel that Colin Dunne was much better than Michael Flatley. Dunne is a real dancer, a dancer's dancer so to say. Flatley is a good dancer, but he's more of an entertainer. Flatley liked to play to the crowd (not that there's anything wrong with that), whereas Dunne didn't need to because he knew when he had nailed it. Dunne danced to meet his standards, and they were high.

    I would have loved to see the two compete head to head (feet to feet?).

    It's probably not fair to compare them, given Dunnes's history & accomplishments in Irish dance, while Faltley was something of a newbie.
