RIP Alvin Lee

Discussion in 'Tilted Art, Photography, Music & Literature' started by grumpyolddude, Mar 6, 2013.

  1. Legendary blues guitarist Alvin Lee passed away today. Reports only cited complications from a minor surgical procedure. His band, Ten Years After, was one of my favorites.

His rendition of "I'm Goin' Home" at Woodstock was phenomenal. "I'd Love to Change The World" is what he'll be most remembered for, but my personal favorites were "Rock and Roll Music to the World" and "Choo-choo Mama."

I'll be digging up some YouTube clips later.

He was among the best of that generation, but never fully appreciated.

My favorite is Outside My Window.

"I'd love to change the world" is part of my heart and soul. He was an amazing performer and one of the best ever guitar plays of our time.

I'd love to change the world
but I don't know what to do
I'll leave it up to you...

This is truly a sad passing.

I wore that live album out two or three times over. Damn tough loss. R.I.P.
