Greetings, all. Mrs. Hat and I have betimes done a little exploring of some alternate modes of sexuality. Sometimes I'm Dom, sometimes She's Domme. I have a great imagination, and I have been thinking about the whats and hows of this for a long time indeed (before the internet made it easy to think about, in fact), but she has only recently discovered that she rather likes it, both as sub and Domme. Now, having been with this young lady for two decades, I know she learns best by reading. So....

Do any of you have recommendations for books on femdom and/or bondage technique that I could get for her? We do have SM101 (which is quite good. Highly recommended.), The Mistress Manual (which is more of a lifestyle, stylistic thing. Light on the nuts and bolt, heavy on the atmosphere.), and Anal Pleasure and Health (HIGHLY recommended. It's worth the money for how to cure and avoid hemorrhoids alone. And if anal sex is something you've wanted to try out but have always worried would hurt or be unenjoyable, then do not delay in getting this.)

I've always said I'll try anything twice (once to see if I like it, twice to see if the first time was a fluke), and insofar as it doesn't involve faeces or cutting, I'd stand by that.

While you're at it, if you know of any good resources for Maledom, I would be interested in that too. Always interested in broadening the horizons.

So recommend away, my friends. If something turns out really well, I'll let you know.

If anyone also has any web resources to recommend, that would be greatly appreciated. I'm currently writing a piece in which BDSM and power relationships figure heavily, and being a novice myself, I could use some more information. Thanks!

Picked up Wiseman's Erotic Bondage. Lots of overlap with SM101. I'd say about a Half of the book is new information. Little bit disappointed. Not a bad resource for folks who aren't up on their ropework.
Also Screw the Roses, Send Me The Thorns. This one I like. The Authors are VERY witty, they bring in collaborators for specialized items (e.g. Using a single tailed whip). Extremely good section on spanking. I haven't finished the book yet (Got it and 3 others on Fryday), but from what I see so far, I'd say it's excellent.
Finally, picked up The Sexually Dominant Woman for Mrs. Hat. It's a skinny, skinny book, and it looks like she lifted a TON from SM101, which is fine, as I believe she's Jay Wiseman's partner. Not really useful for me (skinny book!) but probably going to be useful to the Missus, as the last one I got her was more a lifestyle thing (The Mistress Manual) and neither of us wants to go that route full time. So why useful? Good sample first scene. Distillation of truly important safety info from SM101 et. al. Fair amount of why you might want to do this, that, or the other thing. One of the reviews takes her to task for smug arrogance. 1) I don't see it. 2) I suggest that reviewer re-read the title.

Do lemme know if y'all come up with anything else. I'm all about technique here. I am pretty sure that 4 books that give the same safety instructions and cautions and justifications are plenty.

Since several things posted in this thread tie into some recent threads, I'm giving it a bump.
