QOTD #54: Have you ever shared this community?

No.

I've posted way too much personal info here. While I know a few people who might enjoy TFP for it's open discussions and the overall maturity shown by members here, I don't know what they might say to whom re my posts here. That might sound a bit paranoid, but I'm also looking out for my wife's privacy because she's in a position where some things could bite her a lot harder than they'd bite me.

And I generally try to keep my internet forum involvements separated, regardless of my content.

 

For the most part, no. It's my little corner to not worry about offending anyone or being judged. It also seems like the people I know who would get into forum posting I wouldn't necessarily want to share this space with; and the people I wouldn't mind sharing this space with aren't generally into forums. Kinda weird how that happened.

I did share the forum with @ZombieSquirrel a few years back. She wanted to know about some dude I met here I also put up stickers a few times, both here and in Atlanta.

 

I asked you about it saying i was bored at work and needed something more than Facebook...I secretly wanted to stalk some weirdo that was hitting on you.

I know that was at least 5.5 years ago, because I remember asking when I was in Ohio. I stuck around because you fuckers need me. Especially that @borla freak.

I don't think I've told anyone about it...

 

It won't ever be as large as yours though....

For what it's worth, I stumbled onto the forum because of my ex. Who also introduced another Ohio lady that we're friends with. I don't think he comes around much anymore, though, if at all.

 

When TFP started, it was a lot more anonymous and I shared a lot more personal thoughts and things that I've done than I would share with most of my face-to-face friends. The Internet as a whole was a lot more anonymous.

These days, I don't share the TFP in part because of what has been associated with my user name elsewhere in this board (and previous incarnations of the board that still exist), but also because this is just a different set of friends.

No. I shared it with my husband for a short while. It didn't go well.
This is a place where I have been able to be a little more open in the past than I had been. I came here because I needed advice on things I couldn't talk to my face-to-face friends about. I'm not as open as I used to be, which I'm learning is a good thing, given some of today's issues. But, I also don't really want to share some of the friends I have chosen here with some of the idiots I associate with elsewhere. This place is kinda my safe haven.

 

I think my wife and other friends would be shocked that I'm on here.
Not by the content but because I'm very introverted, and don't use Facebook/Twitter etc. and generally keep to myself.
There are a couple of people I would like to invite but I see worlds colliding........

 

Back in the day I turned some friends on to TFP.
My friend who I hunt vinyl with used to come on the music forum a lot.
