In honor of our latest mom-to-be, here's a thread to help her through the pregnancy!

Nauseous? Chew mint sugar free gum. I really like Mentos fresh white.
Stiff or sore? Yoga is your friend. Get a mat and a ball. They will be your friends.
Difficulty sleeping? Take Zyrtec or other minor antihistamine before bed - just enough to push you over the edge into neverland.
Feeling fat? Everyone does when they're pregnant. Hopefully you can convince a loved one to tell you how beautiful every single day. Even if it's your mother, it helps a lot.

What other advice does everyone have to share?

  2. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU! Since my mother passed away quite some time ago and the mother-in-law is from Japan and there is a language barrier there...I could use all the help I can get.

Ginger for nausea. Ginger snaps, ginger ale, crystallized or candied ginger if you can get your hands on it.

Coconut oil with lavender essential oil (melt 8 oz or so coconut oil, mix in 12-20 drops lavender oil (or more or less, depending on the strength you're going for)) makes an incredible massage oil, and the lavendar will help you sleep and help keep your dreams peaceful and happy.

And remind yourself, as many times a day as you can, you are a goddess. You are generating a sentient life-form out of your own being. How can there be anything more awesome than that? You have been chosen to carry on the legacy and wisdom of your ancestors and pass that on to your child. Don't ever, for one second, forget just how divine and just how incredible that is.

More later if I (or Mrs Moose) can remember anything else.

My smarter half has come through for me! She reminded me of one very important thing. Crocs. Or some such easy-on-easy-off shoe. In one size larger than you naturally wear. I don't know if it's true for everyone, but the poor thing's feet swelled something fierce, and the only thing she could get on her feet was her size-larger Crocs.
