I need y'alls input. My wife & I have discussed the following song several times, I'll explain in more detail later. For now I'd appeciate it if you would first listen to this song:

Apple iPhone 5s Gigantic A Big Big Love Commercial

Please read the following explanation AFTER you've listened to the song.

    Ready?

    You've listened to it, right?

OK, here goes (yes, I intentionally stretched this post in the hope that some folks wouldn't read the explanation first):

What did you hear when you first heard the song, specifically the opening words?

My wife says that she hears the word "gigantic" very clearly.

I hear "juhgenshek" or something like it (kind of hard to explain).

I don't understand how she hears "gigantic." My question to my wife is, "Do you actually hear gigantic, or do you 'hear' gigantic because you know that what she's supposed to be singing?" My wife says isn't sure why she hears gigantic, but says that what she hears. To my knowledge she has never before heard the Pixies song, but maybe she has it in her memory.

My hearing isn't that great, and musically I'm a tone deaf hack.
My wife is a classically trained music major and a music teacher.

I clearly hear gigantic. And I understood that when I first heard the commercial a couple weeks ago. Her pronunciation of -tic is very easy to hear. And that is on my phone.

    So far I'm down 2-1.

I was thinking I'd hear Fleetwood Mac....but the Pixies are almost as good. Except that they're in an iPhone commercial, which makes me sad.

    ....oh, and I hear "gigantic."

Well, bleep, down 3-1. So far this isn't sounding* so good for me.

Sorry Chris, I hear gigantic too. But, if it's any consolation, it is a bit muffled/distorted.

I first heard this song in this commercial a few weeks ago.
I couldn't understand why all she was singing was "Gigantic".

I started seeing the commercial *everywhere* and quickly became disgusted by it, so I'd either fast forward over it, or if it was live, change the channel.

I only later found out who it was by.

But yeah, definitely Gigantic, and I definitely have hearing loss in at least one of my ears.

Now 5-1. Golly gee, folks, thanks a bunch :D.

I must have hearing loss in my brain as well as my ears, because I've suspected (uh, known) for quite a few years (uh, decades) that I have trouble distinguishing lyrics in songs, even songs I've heard many times.

I told my wife that I was going to ask here on TFP, but that doesn't mean I have to share the results with her.
In fact, I might even tell her everyone agrees with me , except then she'd demand to see the thread.

Sorry dude, I heard gigantic the first time I saw it (and was sad the song was in a commercial).

I heard Gigantic, but then I am a big fan of the Pixies and I knew what was coming as soon as I'd heard a few notes.

    Gigantic.

I think this was viral marketing getting me to watch people use iPhones in a way no one ever ever does! How much did they pay you Chris?

    Would you believe $1,000,000.00?

    OK then, how about nothing?

One reason the ad got our attention--other than me hearing juhgenshek--is my wife is a musician and a music teacher (previously mentioned), so the metronone & tuner ap(s) would be useful to her. She has downloaded a free a metronome ap, but I don't think it's the one in the commercial; she might have a tuner ap by now.

Now I have Juhgenshek, juhgenshek, juhgenshek (ad nauseam) stuck in my head .

    EDIT: 8-1.

    It's cool.

Apparantly I have a juhgenshek hearing hearing problem.
