It suddenly occurs to me why TFP is so intimate and welcoming:

I agree, though; the staff does a fantastic job of keeping the crap at bay.

Good thing we pay them in booze and sexual favors.

 

The mods and admins are pretty adept at sniffing out the unsavory. Plus, the "regulars" can pretty much beat offenders into submission in the blink of a cursor. That can get fairly entertaining.

I banned/mass deleted a spammer yesterday within a minute of the post. Someone, possibly [user]Plan9[/user], had made fun of them before I got to it.

 

God, I really need an intervention.

I've enabled the Spam Cleaner option for a few of you who have been around for a while. If you spot a post that's obvious spam, you may see an option for"Spam" right next to the "Report" link. This is a powerful little button that allws you to ban a user and delete all of their posts. Those posts and threads will still be visible to staff, but they'll disappear from public view. It should only be used for obvious spam, if you're not sure just report it and leave it to us since we can do things that aren't available to non-staff-members like searching IP and email addresses against databases of known spammers.

So do I, I don't like competition.

 

It seems like my additions are popular among users and staff. Spam is spam and we know what it looks like when we see it. IIf anyone feels left out, let me know
