Is anybody really excited the NBA has reached an agreement?

  2. Not me. The NBA lost me over the past several years. Might pay more attention if the Bulls make the playoffs. But for now, meh.

    I only miss the playoff.
Couldn't care less about the regular season.

Plus we no longer has a basketball team so...

I most certainly am. I just saw the announcement on NBA.com and my second thought was posting a thread over here about it.
Hopefully the Blazers can stay somewhat almost healthy this year, actually use Greg Oden, and get somewhere in the playoffs this year.

  6. The NBA has been irrelevant for us Piston fans for several years, now. The lockout has taken the luster off the new ownership situation. Not excited. Could have taken the whole season off, for all I care.

I liked watching the pistons back when they had Ben Wallace, 'Sheed, and all of that group that was capable of going deep and winning the championship. Not saying I am a fair weather fan, but the recent teams have been less than stellar to see from what I have caught of those games.
Damn shame the Blazers had to choke in that fourth quarter game 11 years ago or so against the Lakers when the next opponent was the weaker Eastern Conference team.

Describes my feelings about the entire baseball and NFL seasons. Even the Superbowl seems pointless to me. And I have fallen asleep at more than a few MLB games over the years, several of them at the Kingdome and one at the Ranger Stadium (whatever it is/was called) when Nolan Ryan was pitching.

There are only so many nights of the week that football is on, y'know, and so that is what makes me miss basketball the most, especially when I'm sitting down at the pub and the televisions aren't even on because no one wants to watch hockey.

    College sports > professional sports.

I'll feign interest in the NBA when the Knicks have a stellar season, which is pretty much never.

Sorry, but Basketball does nothing for me. Both sides of this mess are to blame for the entire situation. No need to discuss the "super rich" and the "overpaid."

Rather have the TV off than watch hockey!? Where do you live (if you don't mind me asking) so I know never to go there ;)

Like others in this thread, basketball does absolutely nothing for me. Don't watch it, didn't miss it, don't care.

Oregon. I think part of the problem is that we only have WHL teams in the PacNW, with the exception of Vancouver, and Americans just aren't that into the WHL, especially if there is any geographic distance between themselves and the WHL team. Portland has the Winterhawks, but unless you live in Portland, no one really gives a hoot.

What is the WHL? Never have heard of that. Western Hockey League? Did a google search and that sounds right in any event. There is some kind of hockey team in Spokane but I would rather watch senior citizens knit any given day than pay for those tickets or make that drive. I might consider going if somebody else was paying for the tickets and the fuel for the ride up there.
