    Hi,
I'm looking for some application to maintain my music library. I have been using Songbird but I'm convinced that there are better options available.
What are people using (Win OS) ?

I've recently gone back to Winamp, especially since I can sync wirelessly back to my android phone.

I just started using Spotify. It's pretty cool, it has all the music. Well, most of it at least.

Frankly, I just use well-organized folders (well, in theory, because my folders are not actually that well-organized right now).

I've never really found a music library app that satisfied me because most of them feel bloated and require perfect ID3 tags if you want to music properly organized. Nonetheless, if I had to use one on Windows I'd use either Winamp or Songbird. Spotify is interesting, but I'd hate to use it as my primary player or to manage my actual music files, and iTunes is horrible (and even worse if you're using it on Windows).

I find iTunes next to useless unless I am playing a song or video that I downloaded on there. My music/audio collection includes MP3/Ogg-Vorbis/APE/FLAC/Wavpack/Shorten (a few at least)/and probably one or two codecs I forgot and any audio player I use needs to be handle off all of these, ideally without adding more than a 1 or 2 plugins. Only one so far has met that criteria and it has the simple effective interface I definitely prefer.

Looks like Songbird will be removed from my systems, after latest update it no longer plays some of my files and it's even slower than before.
To me it looks like the only add-ons that are available and maintained are the ones I categories as cosmetics. The number of add-ons that actually do anything "real" goes down with each version of Songbird.

However iTunes has suddenly become more useful to me with the addition of an iPod. My personal opinion of it an general audio player has not changed though.

I've used MediaMonkey in the past - but with a new computer and WIMP (similart to Spotify) included in my sat-tv subscription I haven't missed it a second.

A lot of add-ons can be made to work with the current version of Songbird by changing the supported version in a particular file in the package (if you are so inclined).

I did it for a while & got tired of doing it for pretty much all the ones I used, since they were no longer maintaining it.

Winamp & Spotify keep me happy these days.

Downloaded and installed (portable install) foobar. So far is it doing a better job than Songbird for what I wanted.

embarrassingly, folders sorted roughly by artist and windows media player and vlc player are my weapon of choice. all this for a ridiculously huge music collection :/

Songbird has been removed (from my system). I find wmp and vlc both be bit tricky to use for what I'm doing. I'm redoing my music collection after HD recovery so there are broken files and even metadata that is associated with wrong file. So I'm often finding the files moving them around, renaming and etc. So far I have accomplished more with foobar in 2 days than I did in weeks with songbird. A sidenote I wanted music library/player not webbrowser.
BTW I have vlc installed on all machines that I use and it's my preferred mediaplayer.

I've started using Google Music. Since I can listen to my music collection from any computer, anywhere, plus the app for my android phone allows me to listen to it in the car. Plus I can listen on my iPad.

Have you tried Grooveshark.com ? Also cool. Search by artist, song title, album and play songs, albums, whatever.
