1. We've had very few donations over the year. I'm going to be short soon as some personal things are keeping me from putting up the money. If you have something small to contribute it's greatly appreciated. Please put your screen name as well so that I can give you credit. Click here: Donations

Memorial Day

Discussion in 'General Discussions' started by Craven Morehead, May 27, 2012.

  1. To remember those who have fallen in service to our country...

I know one to remember on Memorial Day, Roy Jordan. Roy was falsely accused of vandalism at his high school and was kicked out. He joined the Army. A few days later it became obvious that Roy was innocent and was told he could resume classes. It was to late he had already enlisted. Roy was a door gunner in a helicopter in Vietnam. He re-upped for a second tour and never made it back. I found out on New Years Eve, I'll never forget hearing the news that night.

Bless you Roy, RIP. You are not forgotten.

  2. I take it you have a second memorial day to the eleventh hour, of the eleventh day of the eleventh month. In that case, I remember the 'Shiney Sheffield' as it is now 20 years since the Falklands War. I was invited to her first memorial night. Every man there was 'changed' or 'altered'. Being a survivor marks one does it not. I should raise a tot of the admirals flavourite with my neighbour. He would have been early 20s when his ship was hit. Munitions exploded - cost him most of the use of his lungs so he was disabled out. His three kids born since then have a lovely dad, and he is proud of them, they have confidence and an enthusiasm for life that is quite beautiful.
I read Hanoi Jane was up for Obamas woman of the century. Surely not.
