Happy extra awesome Pi Day (technically tomorrow).

For those that don't know, the 3rd and 4th decimal places in Pi are 15, so it is 3.1415

    So tomorrow is 3/14/15.

I memorised Pi to the 100th place back in 8th grade just 'cause I could. I have problems getting past 35 places now without looking but is has been around 25 years.

My project's company actually went out and bought pie and ice cream to celebrate Pi Day.

We're lucky the carbs didn't put us to sleep...but the sugar high may have given us a brain boost. ;)

To me, π (aka "pi") was always 3.14 plus a bunch of random numbers. I never really maintained in my brain what it was for other than being an example of an infinite decimal.

In other words, I'm not a math nerd. I failed grade 12 math thrice and only ended up getting a general credit at that level. I did get straight As in business math in college though!

(I may be literate, but that doesn't mean I'm numerate.)

I do find Pi Day fascinating though in how it's tied somehow to the Holy Trinity. (Like, the Holy Trinity ≠ 3, but rather 3.14∞...)

Well, that's what it really is...at least in one context.

If you're going to put it in terms of a linear grid, the extra numbers are there for precision
and to represent how a curve works in conjunction to a line.

You'd never be able to get to the end, unless you put it in terms of Universal scope down to the Dimensional Structure's scale.
Not really that practical... ...way too big of a number to represent and work with. Tracking it that far is moot, other than testing yourself and the extent of the point.

You'd get a set and definite number if your context and number system was based on curves...but then the line representation would be random & infinite.
Kind of like the difference between hexadecimal and 10-base numbering systems

We humans decided a long time ago, that lines are easier to work with...and thus it is our base and starting point.
But it could change in the far future...

It all depends on your definition.

The Universe is actually quite versatile...it can go multiple ways. (even if we don't...or can't)

    π is a wonderful concept

I got some pie on Pi Day.

    But not the baked foodstuff.

    (It was really hot though.)

There were lots of those kinds of pie jokes around here last night. It was agreed that it was everyone's preferred pie.

Well, I'm pretty sure I hit it at least 1,000 decimal places.
